Welcome to the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Island Marathon Swim mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Manhattan Island Marathon Swim is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.

Manhattan Island Marathon Swim
If you can't stand the heat, then why not jump in the river? Each year, as New York gets hot and sticky, the annual Manhattan Island Marathon Swim offers a way to cool down for all those crazy enough to attempt a 28.5 mile sprint through the waters of the Hudson River.
Not for the faint-hearted, anyone with any knowledge of the river, whether first-hand or from the movies, will be suspicious to say the least about the contents of a river that flows not only past Manhattan but the Bronx and Jersey City. Indeed, organizers of the race warn of "random jetsam and flotsam in the waterways" and, this being a shipping lane, swimmers come disconcertingly close to large vessels including cruise ships. Thankfully however, recent anti-pollution laws mean that the river is cleaner now than it has been in more than a century.…...more!
